LA FAMILIA is an innovative proposal by dancer and choreographer Julio Ruiz. From a multidisciplinary perspective, integrating writing, dance, performance, and flamenco, it explores family dynamics. The central figure of the work is the relationship between the three women of the creator’s family, whose interactions have marked its destiny and path. A space where the boundaries between the human and the animal blur. Through this family tale, he invites us to reflect on inheritance, the power of blood, and the emotional legacies that are transmitted from generation to generation.
The project is presented as a personal and artistic search by Julio Ruiz, in which he proposes a reflection on identity, gender, belonging, and relationship dynamics within the flamenco context, opening new possibilities for the genre through a renovating and transformative approach.
